Location United States 239 reviews My nursing coworkers are the only ones that make it worth coming to work right now. We're short staffed, underpaid, unappreciated, and over worked. Management isn't worried about safe nurse to patient ratios at all. You're just a number. And getting pulled to work on floors with no training has become the norm. If you work here, be prepared to be a float nurse without the pay. There's no work life balance at all. You always end up having to go in and change your schedule sometimes a few days before the next schedule starts, or you don't even know your scheduled days for the next week because your days could get changed by your manager. Cons Getting floated to other floors, Expected to come to work on off your days off, Not enough days off in between while working night shift. Although the balance between work and home is good, this organization grossly undervalues and under utilizes APRN's. You are an hourly employee with no bonus structure whatsoever.
If your not born a country bumpkin then you best keep stepping. Cons Short breaks, disrespecting doctors, unwelcoming staff Rating based on past 3 years of employment. Encouraged by recent changes. Patient care improving everyday now. Efforts to hire better qualified clinical staff are seen. Pros Our community had a great hospital prior to 2015. Cons Culture of patient safety as top priority PCU was very inviting. I was immediately part of a great team. The pandemic started shortly after I started this assignment. I never felt alone. Always felt supported by management and staff. Working for SGMC was fun! I really enjoyed it! But i had to leave due to health issues and didnt want to return. The work is fun. It was the people there that i did not like or get along with that made me leave this job that i loved!! Cons Bad people work there! Management I loved this opportunity I lvoe cleaning and it was new to me I was new to the area and being in a hospital was home to me I grew up around them because my mom and sister worked as RNs in Nj so housekeeping in the hospital was a lot of fun and you got to interact with patients It's an okay job.
